Each week the team at Cirrus LED Grow Lights receives photos from our loyal customers on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. We love to see how each and every grower we work with is applying the technology to their particular set up. We share our favorites each Friday for your viewing pleasure. Today, we’re looking at carnivorous plants!
Here is our favorite fan-shared photo from 4/1 – 4/7/2017:
What are carnivorous plants?
With the most well-known being the Venus Flytrap, carnivorous plants enjoy a bit more than sun and water; they eat meat!
Carnivorous plants gain valuable nutrients by trapping and consuming insects and other arthropods. This is necessary as these plants typically grow in soil that lacks many of the nutrients that require; most specifically, Nitrogen.
While this sounds like something from a science fiction movie, have no fear, they make terrific… plants?… pets?…. both?
Carnivorous plants will take as much sunlight as they can get, and as we’ve seen in many of Southbay Traps’ posts, thrive with the assistance of an LED grow light.
